Our defense only allowed 3 points because...

of which of the following:
A) The malveto finally got it together for one last hoorah (maybe changed their coaching approach)
B) The defense decided to play inspired despite coaching
C) They just needed three straight weeks of learning to understand the system
D) Had we played the triple option all year, we would have been undefeated

E) GT's QB is an awful passer.

Winner!

I know the lack of a passing game helped, but that didn't hurt them too much this year. We stopped the 3rd best rushing offense in the country to 160 yards (something like that).

That guy was pathetic. I understand his main job is to run the option, but you should at least have high school skills as a passer.

the team was almost 100 percent healthy.

So nobody thinks our defense necessarily played good, it's just their QB played bad...
FWIW, He was 1/6 with 0 TD and 1 INT against UGA (a victory), and 8/24 with 0 TD and 1 INT against LSU. He was 43% on the year with 2 TD and 4 INT. I don't think they expected much...
It is obvious that they used him more due to despartion with being down very early. But they still ran the ball over 60% of the time...

Im gonna say
E) we had a month to prepare and didnt have to factor in a passing game....along with getting healthy....oh and having a chip on their shoulders...

Our D-Line finally acheived instead of underacheived.
GT's QB underthrew a sure TD pass on their second play.
The game is a lot closer if GT doesn't do a bunch of stupid stuff in the 2nd quarter forcing them to keep going for TD's in the Red Zone insted of FG's.
Game could have been 21-16 if a few plays go differently.
Still though, I'm proud of our Tigers. I thought we would win, but I thought it would be more of a shoot out.

How about Chad Jones finally playing the right position...He was all over the field during that game. Our D especially in the pass defense would have been greatly improved over the course of the year had they made this move sooner. Taylor and Coleman blow in coverage in my opinion. Chad Jones has good range and a lot of straight line speed, but his size at 6'3" and 220 pounds makes it hard for him to cover small slot receivers at the line of scrimmage. He is a natural centerfield type safety not the nickleback he has been forced to play. Also our D played without thinking for the better part of that game which means they were able to read plays and fly quickly to the ball and make plays. The extra time to prepare was huge in this one, but with a good D coordinator our guys should be able to learn the defensive schemes and play fast and confidently all season. Great win...Loston is going to be an absolute STUD book it. Also I can't wait to see if Chavis can bring or LBs around.

When Rohan Davey came into the game off the bench, to replace someone, the team was energized and rolled. The defense queue on this and also played much better. This is one of the reasons LSU played so well with J. Jefferson playing QB. That being said, QB Lee someone said on the RANT was maybe 70% of the time 4 downs and punt. I knew in the Ala. game that GB Lee was not going to move the ball in overtime and LSU was not going to win the game.

If my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle.
The D played assignment football like they should have and that shut down the run.

Three weeks of preparation with superior talent was the key.
Also, the defense finally bought into the system being taught by the coaching staff.

Didn't Miles bring in an option defense guru as a consultant. I wonder how we would've done without him (relying just on Malleveto).
