H2S Deer Park Release

Once again, another major release at a Deer Park facility, this time from PEMEX. I don't understand why we allow a business that is owned by Mexico to operate in the US, ESPECIALLY after the numerous failures and releases in Mexico and the Bay of Campeche.

Shell never should have divested from that plant. I wouldn't trust PEMEX to run a snowball stand.

I've been told the fatalities were employees of Repcon and ISC.

That refinery had been a JV between PEMEX and Shell for a while...dating back to the 90s.

PEMEX supplied much of the crude feedstock and in return they got a good bit of the gasoline that refinery produced.

This is terrible and pisses me off. Totally preventable.

place a shithole before Pemex took 50% of it. Did some work there in 2017, was pretty unimpressed with the entire operation. Only gotten worse it seems

I drove right past the fire last year. It's the biggest fire I've ever been close to. Could feel the heat in my car from 225

So our elected officials can make twitter posts about all the jobs “they” created.
