I always used Blue Runner but my mom said she used to trick me when I was a kid by using Trappeys saying they were fresh beans.
What’s y’all thoughts on canned bean brands that taste like fresh beans?

Big Blue Runner fan
Just used som BR with “creole mirepoix” meaning it had trinity already in it.
not as good as fresh trinity but its was fricking fast. Mrs Sammy Tiger is down bad with pregnancy nausea. So I was cooking while holding off Sammy Jr.

Love the Blue Runners red beans. Quick and good when you add some spices and sausage

Blue Runner for any beans. A few of the big cans of Blue Runner, red or white beans with Guidry trinity and some cut up sausage, and you have a good meal in under a hour.

Trappeys is now owned by B&G Foods, which is located in New Jersey.

Why do you combine the 2?

I like to combine them because Blue Runner is too "soupy" for my taste.

Gotcha, I find blue runner too creamy but the wife loves them.
