Happy Monday, fellow Who Dats & Who Datettes & welcome to the week 5/game 5 Saints game thread

Monday night in Missouri as the Saints are on the road for the week 5 finale against the defending back-to-back Super Bowl Champions, the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.

Both teams are dealing with serious injuries that could threaten to derail positive starts to the season. The Saints have seen their injuries result in an offense that has slowed down exponentially since the lightning speed fast start in weeks 1 & 2, having dropped their weeks 3 & 4 games in the last moments of both contests.

Meanwhile, Kansas City still continues to find ways to win, regardless of who is in or out for them, heading into tonight's game as one of the final 2 undefeated teams in the NFL (Minnesota Vikings 5-0)

Can the Saints battered O-Line hold? Can the defense find the key to ending Mahomes magic? Can the Saints make Taylor Swift cry on national TV?

LET'S CORRAL THE CHIEFS AND GET BACK ABOVE .500 ON THE SEASON!!!

Injury Report:
NO-
Willie Gay - Hand - OUT
Taysom Hill - Rib - OUT
Cesar Ruiz - Knee - OUT
Shane Lemieux - Ankle - OUT
Payton Turner - Knee - OUT
Pete Werner - Hamstring - OUT

Weather: Looks like it's going to be a great night for football in GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium tonight with temps in the upper 60s & falling during the game with no chance of rain & winds out of the ENE at 5 mph

Uniforms: Primetime means the best uniform that the team had but messed up with a weird helmet... color rush with the black helmet

Current Standings:
NFC South:
Falcons 3-2
Buccaneers 3-2
Saints 2-2
Panthers 1-4

AFC West:
Chiefs 4-0
Broncos 3-2
Chargers 2-2

Last time I checked, Dennis Allen is still the coach. So this will be a loss.

You are so selfish. 2-3 incoming.

Please do not start the Bucs thread or the season will be over.

Be nice to see Mahomes on the ground a lot.

To the Bourbon for the win!

It's amazing how much damage two weeks can do. Prior to the Philly game two weeks ago I was as excited and hyped for a Saints game as I've been in years. Now two weeks later I'm so indifferent to tonight.

I still love my Saints and I still want to win.

But,

quote:

Willie Gay - Hand - OUT
Taysom Hill - Rib - OUT
Cesar Ruiz - Knee - OUT
Shane Lemieux - Ankle - OUT
Payton Turner - Knee - OUT
Pete Werner - Hamstring - OUT
Lucas Patrick - Groin - QUESTIONABLE

Yikes! Mahomes is likely to run for 100 yards tonight against our defensive line.

Patrick is the most important player on that list. We need him to go

We are overblowing the injuries. We can win this game

There have been some surprising results this week around the league and I can honestly say I have a strangely optimistic feeling about tonight

Saints just announced Lemieux to IR & Kendre Miller is officially out

Pretty sure Kendre's still officially on either IR or PUP but is practicing in a ramp up to return to action... but he will not be coming off that list for tonight's game

ETA: but this also means we're stuck with a 3rd string center for like 4-6 weeks... until McCoy returns from his injury

Jones is going to wreck shite regardless of who is in there. The scheme should allow us some freedom I think. Historically we have neutralized the stud DL pretty well and Most of our OL and DL suck anyway, so if it’s a backup does it really matter? Silver lining is, maybe we learn we have something with McGovern or even Foskey

No Taysom sucks but we play more without him anyway

If you’re going to lose LBs make it Werner and Gay. Davis will do the heavy lifting vs Kelce. Now if he goes out we are fricked

The good thing is we have DC4. He has been elite this year, and Mahomes has looked like shite. We have a huge advantage at the QB position over them.

Mates I've got a tasty SGP that I'm hoping cashes. My rationale is that Shaheed killed us last week and he'll want to make up for things this week.

Please wish me luck and good luck to all who tail

Mate if you take a look at my main Nike shoe closet, you'll see that I'm more of a Blazer and Air Trainer I (Bo Jackson) chap. Not a fan of the Air Force 1 look and even though Jordan's are rather passe now, I even still prefer Jordan's to AF1's. Will be rocking my Cam Jordan's tonight for MNF

When will we hear about Lucas Patrick? I will have hope if he plays.
