So I ordered some take out online. Got asked for tip on sub total page. Zero. Got asked for tip again on final checkout page. Buttons started at like 15%. Still zero.
Then, I pick up the pizza at the restaurant and they have the audacity to print out a receipt with a tip line and make me sign it. Zero.
I feel like a schmuck for ever tipping any restaurant without full service. Never again.

shite is out of control. And businesses probably encourage it so that they themselves don't have to increase wages.

Just give them five or ten bucks. It’s not a big deal and means a lot to those workers. Geez

I always tip a few bucks for carry out. I don't want to give people who handle my food any motivation to mess with it.

I'm just gonna admit it here. I always end up throwing those cats a tip out of guilt.

This was a chain. They’re going to screw it up either way.
Also letting employees see tip before making food would go against “world class” and other general business concepts. I doubt a large company would allow that. I don’t make pizza or tacos though so maybe I’m wrong.

Not tipping on carry out. They are handing me the food, not serving me.

I’ll throw them a dollar or two. It typically goes to kitchen staff. I’m cool with that

ETA: but tipping culture is OOC

If you're not being waited on by staff that are paid less than minimum wage, you have no way of knowing where your tip is going. Hell it could very well be going into the owner's pocket. They are under no obligation to disburse tips to employees that make minimum wage.

I live less than a mile from Dominos and order from them only to go and get it myself and not tip. I do not tip if I get it myself. If I am not given a refill of a drink or waited on, I do not tip. If a place asks for tips in advance, I will not go back.

I'm going to start adding my venmo to the bottom of posts. I expect a tip each time I comment.

I, nor anyone, should tip for carry out anything, but I'll still tip them like a $1 cuz I'm an idiot. Seriously all they're doing is handing the food they didn't make. Why do they think they deserve anything?

A lot of the times, I have realized, it's not the employees who are putting the "tip screen" up, it's whatever company makes the POS.

And if they make you sign your receipt, there's going to be a tip line of course. You can just cross it out.

I know it's slightly uncomfortable, but if you can't handle just saying "no tip" when it's clearly not warranted, then you shouldn't be eating out.

Starbucks hands the credit card machine to you and they say it’s going to ask a few questions. It only ask one question. Tip?
