Just bought another AR and trying to decide what to put on top. What’s your opinions? The AR I already had has a small fixed power on it. Just seeing if I’m missing any good options to consider.

Just give me ideas and I’ll worry about budget depending on ideas. I’ve considered thermal a lot.

Budget?

LPVO? I have a nightforce NX8 that is bad arse.

Thermal? One of the coolest things ever.

Aimpoint red dot?

Primary arms has a great reputation if looking to spend less. I don’t have one of those.

Holosun red dot, green dot, gold dot. Have each and they’re really good for less than an aimpoint.

EOTech. Have one of these as well that’s on another gun. I’ve beat the hell out of this thing and it’s as good as new.

Budget really helps. Also your use of the rifle as well. You can spend $100 or $2000.

It really depends on what you’re using it for, but LPVO is the most practical for me.

If you're not wanting to spend a lot put a Primary Arms LPVO on it.

Are you using this specifically for night hunting?

Exactly and I'd possibly switch the order. Use of rifle to determine type of optic should be the very first first thought. Then how much should I spend without my wife leaving.

I was in the gun shop at my range a few months back. A guy came in and said he was looking for an optic/sight for his AR. Could tell he hadn't spent a ton of time researching. Guy behind the counter just said "you need the Vortex AMG". Didn't ask him any further details or even explained why. Realized I will never talk to that guy when making a purchase.

ATN makes some good day/night vision scopes. Reasonably priced. Lots of good features. One shot zero. Recoil Activated Video.
