LSU men's basketball has landed a commitment from four-star shooting guard Mazi Mosley, Mosley announced on Instagram Monday.
Mosley is the No. 55 player and No. 10 shooting guard in the nation from the Class of 2025, according to the 247Sports Composite. He attend Montverde Academy in Florida but is from La Canada Flintridge, California.
At 6-foot-5 and 165 pounds, Mosley also had scholarship offers from Kansas, Michigan, Iowa and Arizona State.
Mosley is the second Class of 2025 recruit to commit to LSU, joining four-star power forward Matt Gilhool. Both prospects are top-100 players in the nation.

I’m not sure if many of you agree with this or not, but I like seeing posts on the Rant when kids commit to LSU.
I agree that all other recruiting info such as “top 3 schools” or “player coming in for weekend” type of posts should be on the recruiting board, but why not one post on here that says that a kid just committed to the Tigers. Am I misinterpreting the point of the recruiting board?

McMahon is a dog in the recruiting trail! Not the quick splash recruiter like Wade was.. but he is a locomotive slowly picking up steam, and when he gets this thing rolling he will be big time going forward.

You're kidding yourself if you don't believe that nil is the reason we landed a top 50 out of state player in basketball. I'm glad to know that lsu basketball is getting enough of a portion of the pie to push towards being competitive again.

Some people are just particular, but I agree

This would be right in the neighborhood of Reed and Ward who were rated in that neighborhood by most ranking services.
If the schools listed also offered him it bodes well for us I think.

You can be hopeful that McMahon is possibly building towards success without making dumb statements about the previous HC.
Wade brought in Waters late in 2017 which gave an otherwise average team a fighting chance. The next season he signed a top 5 class...which helped lead LSU to its' best regular season in almost 40 years. After that he had a "down" year (though still ranked 31) before signing another top 5 class, followed by a top 10 class. 2023 was shaping up to be a REALLY strong class, maybe his best at LSU, before he was fired. In fact, McMahon's top recruit from his first class (Ward) was a Wade recruit first.
McMahon has done a solid job on the recruiting trail. Not elite. But solid. It has yet to produce great results, but there is hope this year will start to bear the fruit of those efforts. There is NO reason to bring up Wade. But if you are going to do so, at least make an intelligent point. Wade was a very good recruiter.

He is building a program not a rent to own business flash in the pan .

It is almost like he needed a couple years to get rolling...and a little patience.

McMahon has not caught shite from me this offseason. His recruiting has been lights out and I love his new assistants.
But he needs to start winning now. The excuses will be beyond tiresome if LSU is not competitive this season.

Agreed - I think it's more than fair to expect some sort of post-season play this year and as you say to be more competitive.

yea...because his first two years were absolutely horrid! He's still a near bottom when it comes to SEC basketball.

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say here. That Wade wasn't "building a program"? But for the 2020 NCAA Tournament being canceled, LSU would have made 4 straight tournaments. That would have been the first time since 1990 - 1993...nearly 30 years prior. He also was closing in on a very strong recruiting class for the 22-23 season before he was fired...with a lot of talent, absent Days and Eason, set to return from the previous season. There was no reason to think that wouldn't have been his 5th straight NCAA tournament appearance. I'd say the reason Wade had so much support was because the PROGRAM was having success at a level of consistency not seen at LSU since the end of Dale Brown's prime when a guy named Shaquille O'Neal was on the court.
Again, there is zero reason to bring up Wade or a comparison to McMahon in this thread. But if you are going to do so, at least make intelligent points. Not ridiculous arguments are are easily refuted.
