Dogs don’t laugh

It just occurred to me that dogs don’t laugh. For as happy and and fun loving and joyful as they are, they don’t seem to have any concept of laughing.
Maybe because I’m sick and sleepy but that’s blowing my mind right now

Can't think of any other animal that comprehends comedy. We laugh when somebody trips and falls. Dogs just think it's time to play.

Our GR certainly understands comedy and loves being a jerk.
He sits there licking a toy until it’s sopping wet and slimy and then goes around with it in his mouth sliming us on the back of our legs. Also when he’s fired up he pounces on the cat who’s just sitting there spectating.

Yeah but doesn't it make you feel guilty that we all know about the abuse, yet none of us report it.

Birds, monkeys, maybe dolphins?
Maybe not specifically comedy but they definitely have a sense of situational awareness
