Any tips/recommendations? Any guide services to stay away from?

For this season? Good luck.

I have been a few times with a buddy that hunts up there that I used to hunt with down here in Texas. Coastal Wing Outfitters. Larry Robinson runs it.

Probably should’ve done that months ago.

S bar
Coastal wing
You may have luck with those guys or any of the smaller outfits

The big dogs like blue stem, red rock, salt plains, etc will not have any openings unless they have last second cancellations.

I went one of the best duck hunts ever in Oklahoma. It was just a pot hole in a field and every type of duck you can think of wanted to get in that tank.

Oklahoma is the new duck capital of the world. Arkansas is a thing of the past. Just got out of my farm in Dewitt last year was tired of dealing with the inconsistency.

I’ve hunted NE OK the last 7 years and it’s still great but not what it once was. The big outfitters like red rocks, blue stem, and fowl co have leased up a bunch of that area. A lot of those guide services make you hunt with up to 8-10 people which is absolutely wild to me. If I didn’t have buddies to hunt with up there I’d be looking for outfits in Kansas, Nebraska, or Wyoming.
Having said that, the guys at land Land Run Ourdoors LLC are good people.

Well things have certainly changed since I used to be an ardent duck hunter.
back then the limit was 10 ducks so 30 ducks per three man blind was the usual. Almost always filled the limit and back to the boudin hut by 8:30. Now the farming has changed and the 30 duck limit with no points has hurt the duck population, I think. It was not expensive back then to be a duck hunter. Now it is almost cost prohibited. Duck population has plummeted mostly do to the smaller hatch from what I have been told and read. Was something to brag about back then to leave the blind with 30 pin tail drakes. For the life of me I do not remember what the hell we did with that many ducks. Gave lot of them away for sure.

That was half a century ago. Many things have changed since then

When I started hunting ducks and geese in Oklahoma 20 plus years ago it was absolutely amazing. Limits of green and an odd bird, usually a penny. Limits of geese, usually cacklers every field hunt. Peanuts mostly. Shifted from peanuts to subsidized cotton 15 years ago and slowing started dwindling birds around Ft. Cobb. Still go and hunt ponds we have access too. Kill limits steady, but now mostly wigeon and greys. Get occasional penny and green. Still pound for pound amazing shooting. I love it and will hunt there until I cannot. Southwest Oklahoma is really pretty, plateaus, ag everywhere, tumbleweeds. Just very beautiful.

I’d say try Brad Albeck, Albeck’s Adventurers. He’s got a good camp and offers a lot. He’s leased up a lot there.

Take a look a Stuart Ranch Outfitters. I deer hunt with them but they also have a duck hunting operation. I have not duck hunted with them but they are great folks and have a very nice new lodge.
