Hypothetical: If America was split into two countries

Let's just say both factions of this country mutually decided it was in the best interest to split the country into two nations, let's call them Conservastan and Woketopia. And a giant border wall with electrified razor wall and crocodiles moats was built and divided this country geographically. Each side was given 90 days to get their affairs in order and get to the side of the fence they wanted to live.

In this scenario, I believe you would see a few things occur.

First, all the so called centrists, moderates, and above the fray types would scratch and claw to get into Conservastan. Because even though these so called "independent thinkers" like to bitch about the right and find them unbecoming and in their eyes "top extreme". They know that conservative culture produces good fruit, they like to ridicule the farmer, but they enjoy the fruits of the farmer's harvest. They don't like the fruits the left produces, and they know it.

Second thing that would occur, is that within a few months, the leftist citizens of Woketopia, would be digging tunnels and breaking into Conservastan. They would go on and on about how it is selfish of Conservastan to not invite in weary travelers. And that the citizens of Conservastan were racist for not letting them in. Meanwhile, their country would be a hellscape, producing nothing of value, and filled with crime, degeneracy, and despair.

And then of course, within a few generations of Conservastan thriving and creating very comfortable and prosperous lives for all its citizens, the future generations would feel guilty about the successes. They would reject the prosperity created by their ancestors, and begin tearing down the wall and inviting in whatever hordes of orcs that have been festering in Woketopia for generations. They would say that it was necessary to bring in foreigners from Woketopia to Conservastan because of Diversity being a strength and it somehow would make Conservastan better.

Wash, rinse, repeat
