I will be in Tallahassee for the day with my wife. We are just there for the day and night and want to hang out and sightsee.

I see there's plenty of museums and parks to check out. Any place in particular to see while in town?

How about any happening areas of town (restaurants or shopping)?

Any great local restaurant?

Thanks!

Stopped this summer passing through and ate at Outback, first time I’ve been to one in years.

Expensive- and not really good.

That’s all I got.

Jameis Winston said the Ocala Road Publix had the best crab legs in town, and super cheap.

I love Florida but Tallahassee is trash. If you can stop or spend time anywhere else I’d do that.

Only time I was in Tallahassee, we drove down to the lighthouse at the St. Mark's Refuge. Saw a lot of wildlife along the way, though if you're from LA, you won't be nearly as interested in it as I was.

I've lived on the coast, south of Tallahassee, for almost a decade. Tallahassee isn't a bad place at all. But it's not interesting enough for me to want to visit very often. It's very much the Baton Rouge of Florida, without the Cajuns and chemical plants. But add in the rednecks (not meant disparagingly, but that's what we have and I don't hate it). For anyone in Tallahassee my answer is - go to St. Marks. And/or do the Wakulla Springs boat cruise just north of Crawfordville. This area of the world is great for the natural things, the cities = meh.

Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill is pretty good.

We always enjoy the Natural History Museum.

If you're an earlier riser, make a quick trip to Reynolds Donuts in Quincy. The donuts and cinnamon twists are amazing.

My great grandparents lived in Perry, FL until I was around 9-10, and I had cousins there until a few years ago. We used to go to Wakulla Springs and Dekle Beach all of the time.

Madison Social is elevated bar food. Get the BLT Dip.

Maple Street Biscuit Company for breakfast if you can make it in time. They close after lunch.

Gaines Street Pies for good pizza and drinks.

Fermentation Lounge for drinks.
