Court case is being streamed by CourtTV. I haven't watched the whole thing - but I have come away with this:
We are giving kids WAY too much medication. Giving it out like candy.
Not diminishing what she did, but it's crazy how many meds this girl was on. Honor student/30 ACT by 14 years old. This psych on the stand right now that saw her one time put her on a cocktail of drugs.

Parents are too quick to drug their children. It’s lazy parenting, trying to take the easy path to raising kids

It's a business, if you find a doctor who tries to get you off of medications you've found a good one. Finding one is like trying to find Bigfoot though, sightings are rare.

Between the TV/Internet/Social Media, government schools & the therapist, parents have outsourced almost 100% of the rearing of children.

Gotta admit, Mom drugged us as kids with Benadryl at 8:30 every night if we looked like we might resist the 9 0'clock bedtime routine.
(It was a pink liquid back then and tasted gawd-awful! We learned to chase shots with chocolate milk by the age of five.)

My ex did this to my daughter and brainwashed her to hate me...I tried to no avail to get her off the psych drugs

If I was in grade school today they would have me and all the friends I ran with on some type of prescription drugs for what today is considered "hyperactivity", back then the school teachers and principals just told our parents we were a bit onery.

Back in the day, we lived in fear of the principal's "electric paddle"

No she didn't. Put her on Zoloft. Didn't work. Cut it to 5 mg a day for ten days to wean her off it while she gave her a starter dose of Lexapro

We're rearing generations of sociopaths and neurotic urchins. It's scary what my wife sees as a teacher, both from the administrative level and in her students. Even Millennials and older Gen-Z have a major leg up on Gen-Alpha. Talking to kids nowadays is like communicating with autistic zombie blobs.

instead of drugs
How about the old fashioned treatment

I can second this. They are heavily medicating kids at a young age. Often, the doctors dont bother with looking at side effects or cross drug effects. They are just perscribing to reported "symptoms."
Ive had kids over the years taking 4-5 meds in the am to jack them up but keep them calm and needing 4-5 at night to knock them back out. Its terrible.
