Is Trey Holly’s court date tomorrow?

I saw that his court date was set in the summer was Sept. 18. Has this been changed or is it still tomorrow?

He’s 5-2 and not playing this season.
Let him sort things out in private

Yeah, except for the fact that being in court on a felony charge, is not private.

Being short and stocky is an advantage for a running back. And we could use another depth piece. Never know what could happen with injuries.

Holly’s lawyer Mike Small says he along with the prosecution filed a joint motion for a September 18th continuance. Small says he remains convinced of Holly’s innocence. “I am equally convinced of his burning desire to play football for LSU. I share that desire and I’m going to do everything I can possibly do to make that possible.”
Small says Holly is not discouraged by the mid-September continuance. “We certainly don’t view it as a negative development at all. I remain convinced of Trey’s innocence. I’m hopeful that the case can be disposed of.” Holly has pleaded not guilty to a charge of illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentality.

Look at the threads on the first 2 pages over the last couple days. It’s getting worse. Just idiots sky screaming about everything.

Is this a public hearing?? We need boots on the ground reporting

Seems like Holly is the one we only get updates about. What’s the status of the other two?
I saw his younger brother is playing at McKinley High now. Guess they decided to get out of farmerville

I really don't know what motions might be pending or what the hearing is about. But lower your expectations. Criminal cases are rarely resolved at pretrial hearings. Unless the prosecution just decides to wave the white flag and dismiss it, this is probably headed for a jury trial.
ETA: Or a plea deal to a lesser charge. Maybe one that would allow him to get back to the program.

Plea.deal.is good for him personally, but is that really something that should clear him with the program? That some serious charges he's accused of.....can't ignore that unless he's cleared, IMHO

I’m not saying that’s what you’re saying here, but playing football for LSU— or anybody—should not factor into his calculus. This is for the rest of his life. He’s got to do whatever’s best for him and his future. If that’s getting another continuance, cool. If the pea deal offered sucks and his attorney thinks the longer he drags it out, the more likely he gets a better one, fine. But getting back to the football field earlier should play zero part in his decision. Especially since then DA could use that as leverage to try to get him to plea to something higher than they would Joe Blow who doesn’t have anything to get back to, and they just want to get his case off the docket.
I doubt his attorney will let that happen, though. I just think Trey, his attorney, the prosecutor, the LSU football staff, and we fans should just forget about him playing this year and let the case play out to his legal benefit. Anything he might possibly be able to give LSU football should just be considered lagniappe at this point.

I wonder if the Union Parish DA will take days practicing in the heat while other people were in the air conditioning into account?

What would happen to you and your buddies if you were caught in a car with weed and a stolen gun?

Absolutely correct. I just posted because there seemed to be some belief that there might be some resolution of the charges at the upcoming hearing. That's just not how it works.

That was absolutely the expectation back in July before they pushed the date back. Brian Kelly was almost expecting to have Holly back before the season started until the hearing got postponed

I’m assuming it’s a hearing on motions. I wouldn’t expect the DA to come into court and ask that the charges be dismissed but you never know when you have Mike Small Magic.
