I took it as disrespectful to LSU
I took it as disrespectful to LSU when GT couldn't convert 4 4th down conversions. I mean, what a sucky team! They didn't even deserve to be on the same field with LSU. 4 tries and you can't convert one! We're used to playing high powered offenses, not bumbling 3 yards and a cloud of dust 1950's offenses.

Absolutely. None of this "disrespect" stuff. I think he saw the game was getting away from him and needed something to get his team going.

Oh, and a little stupid as well. He should have known that was never gonna work.

I thought it was an act of DESPERATION given that they figured out pretty quick they were in over their heads and that they weren't in Kansas or the ACC any more.

Bingo. I think Coach Johnson realized that if he didn't do something to drastically change momentum right now, the outcome would be well... what it turned out to be. To me that fake punt just made our offensive numbers a little lower by shortening our third td drive. Hell watch that drive. All we did was run Charles Scott to the left 5 times with one QB run mixed in. The weren't gonna stop us from the 30 or the 1030 unless we just screwed up.

Both coaches did what they did because they were trying to WIN THE GAME. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm sick of this "disrespect" or "classless" bullsh*t. Run plays that win games, like fakes, bombs, etc. People sound like this is peewee football, where everyone has to play and gets a trophy in the end no matter who wins or loses. Grow the f up.

at that place on the field
with that many yards
with time left

= stupidity

that's why coaches get fired (or ought to)
