Pretty remarkable how even both guys are. Alvin held the edge for much of the time but McCaffrey soared past the last couple seasons.

AK is back. McCaffrey is back to being hurt.

Hope Kamara is out to prove hall of fame status for next few years not just getting a new contract

I think you could tell from his interview he knows this offense is gonna work. He's always been a monster in space and Pete fricking Carmichael refused to acknowledge that for two years.

That and he ran with fricking purpose. That screen on 1st and 20 was prime kamara shite

Probably kamara. I think the kool-aid signing was writing on the wall.

DB, I was shocked with how much juice AK had yesterday. He came out early like he was shot out of a cannon, like he took a whole .1 off his 40. And it wasn’t just the holes he had. He was at top speed before he even got to the LOS.

This appears to be a complementary team where both sides feed off the success of others. I don’t care who we played, there was some serious juice on both sides of the ball. Everybody playing fast and free and with joy.

Not to party poop a bit, but 29-year-old AK can’t bring that for 17 weeks. I love how we’re getting Taysom the ball in different ways. And Williams even had a nice game with everything else working. But we’re really gonna need another back to get through this season. I hope to goodness it’s Miller and he comes back healthy and becomes the guy we thought he could be when we drafted him.

You were shocked because he was forced to play in a horrible scheme for 2 yrs?

I was shocked that a 29-year-old RB looked like he found a time machine and ran like he was 25. Not talking about the scheme except in the context that he likes it so much it gave him more juice. I’m talking about how he hit the hole in his 1st few carries before he even got to the line and knew the scheme was gonna work. He had a fire, a juice, a joy that I haven’t seen from him in years. That’s just not normal for an older RB.

And that success on offense and playing from in front allowed DC to be very aggressive on D. Looks like a lot of buy in from the entire team.

McCaffery almost 5 yds a carry, damn. Not bad for a white boy!

Yeah I would’ve thought AK’s was better but early in his career he was the best pure runner in the league

he 's in his prime as far as physical ability. like you said earlier, it's the recovery time that's gonna take it's toll as the season goes. i was half a second slower in the 40 at 32 than i was at 24 and faster than i was at 15, but recovery was something that took priority.

Then you cut bait. You absolutely don’t pay a 30+ year old running back new money unless it’s VERY team friendly…EVER. If the offense keeps it up then the SF offense has shown us many running backs including cheaper guys will also do very well. Hell spend a relatively early pick to draft his successor instead of paying a guy north of 30.

Kamara has low mileage and he was never a super fast top end speed guy he just has crazy burst/acceleration and I don't think that's going away anytime soon. I'd like to see him retire a Saint as long as he doesn't want CMC money.

he's arguably in best shape of his career. I'm not really afraid of his decline for next 2-3 years at this low usuage rate we've been doing. never had more than 280ish touches in a season.

Well one has a Super Bowl ring and 3 1000 yard seasons lol including a 1000 yard rushing and receiving season in 2019 . The other one hasn’t ever rushed for a 1000 yards since he been in high school……

The comparative numbers are posted above and neither has a Super Bowl ring

Okay I was wrong about the Super Bowl ring . But seriously put the beer down . Alvin ran the ball more but somehow CM has more rushing yards . In less games lol . Still doesn’t change the fact AK has never rushed for a 1000 yards in a season since high school.
