Kentucky opener for bow was today (yesterday). My brother and I got it done. It’s late but we are having a drink after cleaning and enjoying pictures and discussing the hunt. This weather is amazing compared to the normal hot temps. Here is a pic of mine. 237lbs.

you or that buck? Lol.. I woulda guessed he was about 150 in that pic. Which is a good thing, because horns make him look small. Either way congrats, i miss kentucky. Hadnt been in 2 years. We used to go every year but 2 yrs ago buddy got brain cancer and we hadnt went back since

I was surprised he was that much. That’s him on the right facing the tailgate next to my brothers deer. Thankful for this little cool front. We would have had a stroke pulling them out if it was hot!
Sorry to hear about your buddy. We try to come up every Labor Day.

That’s the exit of my arrow. My knees were knocking so much. I had gotten a text from my brother about 45 minutes before saying he shot. We knew these bucks frequented our 2 spots so I was thinking he might show up. A doe had busted me so I was down. He showed up just before dark in the woods. I admit I rushed the shot. Blood was sparse when looking after 90 minutes of waiting. I knew I hit back but couldn’t tell how far. We called off the search until morning not to bump him. Head to pick up my brothers gear at his stand. We round the corner into the field 400 yards away and laying dead is my buck. Crazy story. One of the few times it’s better to be lucky than good. Arrow clipped live upon entry and other arteries.
