Run game

How is our run game struggling so bad when we have two of the top offensive tackles in the entire country? I would’ve thought that we would’ve gotten something going especially with how much kaleb jackson has grown as a player.

How about our RB coach? What is he doing to address this?

Because they’re the most bland, vanilla, not creative plays. And we’re incredibly predictable when we run it.
And our OL doesn’t have a bunch of fist fighters apparently.

Bad coaching. USC would show an 8 man front, you have to audible out of the run.
BK told USC what he was going to do.

Not sure why people want to ignore that we have a freshman at center.

BK thought we could run against an 8-man front. Turns out you can’t do that very well unless you have the best OL in the history of OLs. 5 can’t block 8.

I don't want to hear shite about this OL as a group or its individual part / players right now. Improve and prove yourself the next month them come talk to me after we run on and beat Ole Miss.

We had 26 attempts for 117 yards with a 4.5 yard average. Just sayin.

We don’t force the D to consider the entire field with our run game so they can stack areas up front.

The average was heavily skewed due to John emery’s 2 long runs. Other than that it would’ve been below 3ypc

This....people dont realize the impact of blitzing double A Gaps and edges when they are 90% sure it's run.

2 runs netted 54 yards I think. So, 24 attempts for 63 is an average of 2.63, that isn’t good. Some of what I saw is player utilization problems, Jackson needs to be utilized more on outside runs. I know you have to run him both ways but a lot of the inside runs he himself struggled with or the line just didn’t get a done.

For me, it was all playcalling. Let's run some formations under center, QB sneak. How about using Pimp at fullback? Letting him double up on a DT or DE with a lineman and having the back follow them?
WAY too many times I was like, oh we are going to try and run to the left for these 2 yards or so we need, you'd see USC shift and we would try to counter with motion or a modification, but it never worked because the formation was flawed from the jump.
If we don't expand the formations and keep people off balance, the USC blueprint to stopping us will be here for the rest of the season.

OL coach needs to focus on run blocking this week. Take nothing for granted.

In the 4th quarter, our last 3 drives we ran the ball NINE times for 15 yards......15 yards....stop with the average bs. When the game was on the line we didn't run the ball at all.
