Why do I keep seeing that Kelly isn't taking responsibility....

I keep seeing that all Kelly is doing is throwing his players under the bus and wont take any responsibility. Y'all do realize that just because you say something, it doesn't make it true, right? The main complaints that I have seen so far on here were addressed by Kelly and he took personal responsibility for in his post game conference.
The penalties:
The lack of killer instinct:
Just because he is laying some of the blame on the players (rightfully so), doesn't mean he and the coaches are void of responsibility. Like Forrest said "Maybe both is happening at the same time." It isn't either the players or coaching. Both have a part to play and since EVERYONE is getting paid now, EVERYONE can share the burden.
I just find it odd that I keep seeing him get shite on for "not taking responsibility for anything" when that's literally all he did in his presser.
The penalties:
quote:
The thing that is most concerning for me is the personal fouls. The penalties that are selfish. Both of them led to scores. They were undisciplined penalties and effectively they fall back on me.
quote:
They impacted the game. They're from veterans, guys that know better and are our leaders. I have to look at myself and say "I have to do better because they're not getting the message."
The lack of killer instinct:
quote:
Its clear that when we get up in a game, we do not know how to handle ourselves. You gotta have a killer instinct in this game, You gotta put teams away. We get complacent, we make more mistakes when were ahead instead of having a better focus and a steely eyed killer instinct. That's disappointing, and so i'm angry at those things. I have to do a better job in shaping that in this group.
quote:
Were sitting here again [slams fist] talking about the same things! About not finishing when you have an opponent in a position to put them away. But what we're doing on the sideline is feeling like the game is over. And I'm so angry about it, that I gotta do something about it. I'm not doing a good enough job as a coach. And I gotta coach them better because its unacceptable for us not to have found a way to win this football game. Its ridiculous. Its crazy.

I don't give a shite whether he takes responsibility or not. Those are just words. Winning is all I care about. You're either doing it or you aren't. And if you aren't, you're fired.

Agreed. I just don't understand why people feel the need to lie and create this strawman. Is it just to help validate their anger? Because its ok to be angry after a loss. You don't have to make shite up

ETA: thanks for having the balls to reply with your thoughts, instead of getting butthurt and just downvoting the truth.

These are like backhanded compliments. He's blaming players while saying it's his fault the guys are sucking. Still saying the guys are sucking.

“Put it on me”
“Gotta coach better”
“Gotta coach better”

So do we not want accountability now??
And in those certain scenarios and situations they did suck. And he took responsibility.
That's a really odd position to take.
These are grown arse men getting paid. They shoulder the blame too.

Because he's basically saying "I take responsibility for everyone else in the program fricking up except me."
And what people want to hear is "Idk wtf plays my OC was calling in the 2nd half but I probably fricked up hiring him and that's on me."

Kelly was right. His players are the problem

I’m frustrated with him but I watched the whole presser and it was better than the fist slamming quick clip.
We’ll see how this thing plays out.

My wife twists shite like this. How do you get that from what he said?? This is exactly what i'm talking about with the strawman. The "except me" part of your reply goes right out the windo when he literally says "its on me". People twisting what he said into what they want it to be just to have a reason to be pissed.
"Well he said its on me and I have to do better, but thats not what he really meant." GTFO

He's a damn strong press conferencer.

Exactly. If thats all you saw, then it sounds rough. I thought the same thing, then I watched the entire presser for myself and all he did was take personal responsibility.

Not a good fit. A Tiger can’t change his stripes.Yankee. Kelly is a Yankee doucher.

We cannot do anything about Kelly for at least 5-6 more seasons. He epitomizes big game choke.

"It's on me" isn't a cureall.
If I say: "im4LSU is a giant pussy and terrible poster and that's on me" does that sound more like I'm taking responsibility or I'm throwing you under the bus?

Didn't say it was. It was him accepting the responsibility. How can you hear that, and think anything else? What are you looking for him to say in that situation? Honest question. Yall want him to take responsibility as the coach, but dont like how he says it?? Him saying that tells me he knows there is an issue and as the leader, is going to do something about it. Time will tell.

It sounds like him holding his players accountable while at the same time taking responsibility. The two arent mutually exclusive. Also, if I did something to indicate that I was a giant pussy, or terrible poster then sure. Let him call me out. I would assume that him accepting responsibility would mean that he is going to do something about it. Lacy and Burns made dickhead mistakes that cost the team, so he called them out. But he ALSO shouldered responsibility as their leader and put himself under the bus with them, which is fair.
That thought process falls into the category that I'm questioning. You want him to take responsibility, but when he does you say "Well that doesn't fix it" or "that's not what he really meant" so in your head, he didnt do it which isnt fair and you can keep pushing this lie. You're twisting shite in your head to validate you being upset that we lost. I showed direct proof contrary to the notion that "He doesnt take responsibility', and all I get back is "That doesnt fix it".

Our fans are being fans
Full of emotional disappointment
I liked what Kelly said in the post game seemed upset rightly so And said what was exactly what we all saw unfolding
Heck, I was feel like he stole my post in the fourth quarter that we didn’t have the killer instinct when we acted like we had the game won after 4th and 9
Maybe Joe Sloan has to learn killer instinct in play calling

Both parties are at fault. The coaches need to coach better and some players made dog shite decisions that affected the game. The players must take responsibility too…. all this bullshite about only blaming coaches is bull shite. The coaches don’t teach kids to point fake guns at the opponents…. Total bullshite and embarrassing as an LSU fan.

Exactly. He addressed the exact problem we all saw and I was glad to hear it. When it goes unnoticed is when we begin to have issues.

Agree 100%
Both parties can be at fault. I dont understand the mentality that it has to be one or the other. These are no longer amateur athletes. They want to get paid? they get some of the blame too. Cant have it both ways.
