quote:

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Though Allegiant Stadium regularly sees record-setting crowds at sporting events and concerts, Sunday’s Vegas Kickoff Classic showcasing a matchup between USC and LSU Football is expected to host a new standard of 63,000 fans.

“Our host hotels are sold out, the restaurants are all sold out, shows that are specific to the LSU or USC fanbases are sold out," said Vegas Kickoff Classic Executive Director John Saccenti. "We always get a post-event analysis recap, and we’ll know exactly what the economic impact number is, but based on what we’ve done over the last couple of years at the Las Vegas Bowl, based on what we did at the last Kickoff Classic, I expect us to crush that number."

I have to imagine that’s us doing the heavy lifting?

Despite not being far from Vegas I just don’t anticipate many SC fans traveling for this.

shite, you can rarely get them to go down the street for a home game.

All this may be true…. But I’m still having trouble downloading my tickets… the LSU ticket office has been working on this for a week….bring back paper tickets… the raiders ticket office moves so slow…it’s like watching grass grow….

Super Bowl just had 61k, but that’s probably bc cheapest tickets were >$2k each instead of $150

LSU travels to big games as well as any fan base in the country. And we party harder than any and it’s not close.

The season opener vs Fla State in the Dome a few years ago we were outnumbered 60/40

Had much more to do with FSU actually being excited about having expectations and a good team.

Don't give me that bullshite, we had a brand new coach and a new transfer QB, with a game in a big time venue only an hour away. That wasn't "exciting" enough for our fans?

FloridaSt-LSU aside, this is going to be an awesome atmosphere in Las Vegas IMO and a great road trip for the LSU fans.

There are not many fan bases that take over a "once in a lifetime" trip like LSU fans.

I was there in Lambeau Field in 2016 and the Rose Bowl in 2021 and it was insane and amazing how many Tigers were everywhere. I will be in Vegas this weekend for the game and I'm pumped!

At the time, we thought Austin in 2019 was perhaps a once in a lifetime trip and LSU fans took over Austin. It was incredible.

I can't wait for Clemson a year from now.

Unless something else pops up in 27/28, we will have to wait 5 years for the next fun one @Arizona State in Phoenix.
