Why wasn’t this song a big hit? I’ve been singing this song every night to my wife for over twenty years.

Bow Dude, I am a huge GS fan too. I had to check the dates (as I didn't remember this song on #7) to see if it was recorded after his daughter was killed in an auto accident. This song was recorded in January 1986 and she passed in June so the song was not about her.
I listened to it twice, and while I think his 1980s music is his best, sorry but I thought the song was pretty average compared to his others. #7 isn't one of his stronger albums. Maybe it will grow on me. I'm glad you like it though!
