Looks like Doveweed to me

I feared Doveweed. I have it all over now sadly.

Doveweed - Celsius herbicide with surfactant for post-emergent control, Specticle herbicide for pre-emergent control, applied in mid to late April. Seeds germinate at soil temp of 70 F.

Dayflower- triclopyr works for me. Will kill everything no else also.
All mine have finally died off now that it’s 100+ every day.
Edit: doveweed is a dayflower. Oops.

Thanks all.
I guess Specticle is on deck next spring. My back does have a ton of kyllingia, sedges, and doveweed.

I have got this bad in my back yard. I plan on nuking the whole back yard and resodding (not just because of the doveweed, but wrong grass, looks terrible, and need to regrade the whole area anyway). Glyphosphate will kill this too I am assuming or do I need to use triclopyr as well?

Can I spray Celsius for buttonweed now or do I need to wait until temps cool?

You can spray it now. The name of the product provides you the hint that it can safely be used in hot weather on warm season turf grasses.

I would definitely spray for buttonweed now as it's a bitch to contend with once it's starts spreading...

Blindside knocks it out. Works pre and post. I don’t remember when but it starts to disappear in the fall. So if you spray late it may be just disappearing on its own. But don’t worry, it will be back. Get it under control because it’s a beast.

How did this end up working out for you? I am about to do the same thing and lay sod. Did you till the entire yard or just lay sod on top.
I'm just looking for tips

This is going to be kind of an unconventional take, but it is low-growing, green and attractive….why not just leave it and keep it mowed?
