Been watching the 2019 LSU Bama game

Man I’m going to miss having Gary Danielson on the call for the big games.

Danielson sucks because he often doesn't credit players for making good plays, he blames the losing player for messing up. Example: maybe a guy catches a 50 yard TD. Instead of pointing out the good route he ran or the route combo that sprung him open, he will point out which DB blew the coverage and what they should have done instead.
I get that the DB did mess up to let a guy catch a 50 yard TD but Danielson makes it seem like big plays are gifted, not earned. While some might be gifted, I'd rather the players that make the play get credited as opposed to the losing player getting bashed. It also makes it seem like he is cheering against every team which is why every fan base thinks he hates them.

Hell of a game. But every time I rewatch that one I think about just how close we were to making that game a complete blow out. We had it at their 35 yard line on the first drive coming out of the half. I always think scoring a TD to make it 40-13 would have absolutely broken that team. But they got the turnover from Burrow and their offense kind of rallied around it.

I love the Thad Moss toe tap commentary... Danielson was so confident it would be incomplete or illegal touching and none of the "experts" noticed the ball was deflected... WRONG

And… how ridiculous it was to make the game as close as it was at the end.
I will never in a million years understand why Aranda went to press man with 1:37 left in the game and Bama on their own 20 yard line. Why would you line up in press man with a two possession lead and your opponent has 2 TO’s left and has to drive 80 yards??? Go into a 3 safety zone!!
One play and Devonta Smith beats Stingley on a 80 yard pass and Bama is within 5 points and only burns 10 seconds.

This is called good, honest commentary. I appreciate the fact that he’s honest. Sometimes an offensive player makes a good play, or sometimes the defensive player makes a bad play. It’s not always automatically a good offensive play.
I’m on the opposite side of the debate as you. I can’t stand announcers who suck the offensive player’s dick all the time and pump sunshine no matter what.

Don't worry. Fans will find reasons to hate the main SEC analyst, too. He will always be against "their" team.
When Danielson was doing an SEC game, you could look on both teams' message boards, and both sets of fans would swear that Gary was pulling for the other team to win. People hear what they want to hear.

That’s because 95% of people nowadays are weak little pussies whose pysche’s are too fragile and delicate to be able to receive negative feedback on themselves or on their teams that they like to watch.

Its not just an offense thing. A guy can get a pick six and he won't credit great coverage. He will point out how the WR screwed up the route and/or how the QB messed up the throw.
Hell, a kicker could make a game winning FG and he will talk about how the FG block team didn't get off on the ball quick enough...
He gives no one credit. Every big play is gifted by shitty players according to him.
