Had a super fun weekend with the guys grabbing up some toads! Can't gig in MS so you just gotta grab em or chase em down. Made for a fun trip!

Impressive! That's got to be a bit difficult

It’s actually pretty easy.

I’ve heard that a boat paddle slows them down a bit

Only way to do it is grab em. I’ve never gigged em. Just blinded by the light

We have three ponds at our place in Dallas

In years past, we always had a few at each pond that you could hear and see at night.

This year. A bumper crop.
Day or night, they ring the ponds.

I do like to eat them, but have only so much time. They are fun to hear at night.

We did have a very wet spring. Other than that, don’t know why we have so many.

Used to gig all the time when I was a teenager. Old pair of shoes and cutoff shorts wading chest high through muck in the swamps at night with snakes all around. My girls would have no interest in it.

I grew up doing the way you're talking about. As did most of the folks I know who grew up like I did in South Louisiana.

I have hundreds, if not thousands on my property. I can't mow without making frog soup. I try to let as many of them get out of the way as possible, but it'd be impossible to not grind a lot of them up.

Bumper crop indeed.
