Ive heard a bunch of health gurus talking about grounding and how important it is. Essentially they are saying our body holds electrical charge and putting your bare feet on the ground will release this charge into the ground and reduce inflammation in the body. I’ve been seeing tons of ads for things like grounding beds, grounding shoes, etc to make it easier than having to take your shoes off and walk on the ground every day. Do some of yall believe in this or is it complete BS?

BS outside of it just being nice to go outside and be in nature. It’s also nice to be barefoot and walking in soft, cool grass.

There is evidence that electricity transfers from the ground into the body, and some grounding gurus will point to that as being evidence for its healing powers. But the amount is almost negligible and you can get similar electrical charges from petting a dog, giving someone a hug, or touching a tree.

Oh, this reminded me, I need to re-start Better Call Saul, I never finished it from the first time I started watching.

Sounds about as useful as sunning your a-hole.

I think a lot of it is BS but if you feel better after going outside barefoot or sitting in the sun for a bit then go for it. Placebo effect can be pretty powerful.

Well and we know for a scientific fact that getting in the sun for just 15 minutes for most folks (depending on skin tone) you'll absorb Vitamin D which is going to make you feel better. We also know that having contact with dirt (like in gardening) triggers serotonin release (and sometimes dopamine release depending on what you're doing) in the brain. I'm sure there is some similar effects with walking barefoot in grass.

I also imagine if you have fond memories when you were younger of walking barefoot in grass, that can also trigger a similar dopamine release.
