I keep seeing a lot of people cheering this movie on for some reason. The action was short, the movie wasn't better then some of the kids movies that come out which makes it fall short in my books.

no Iron Man was not overrated, it was another summer movie that made lots of money. It was a good comic book movie and was marketed as that.

The Dark Knight was overrated, people pumped this movie as one of the greatest films ever and while it was better than Iron Man it was not the greatest film that people claim it to be.

I think you are right. I bought it a few weeks ago and wasn't impressed. Good special effects, story wasn't bad, but very little action.

It was an okay movie. Not 'great' by any means IMHO. It was a good comic movie. Once again, not 'great.'

Thought it was good, good special effects, but was a little short on action. Can't wait for the sequel though.

After seeing what your favorite movies were from your previous posts, your opinion is pretty worthless

Dude, have you ever seen an Ironman cartoon, or a comic book where he's by himself without the Avengers?

He's kind of a boring character. The fact that the movie wasn't a complete turd is a huge accomplishment, and more than that it's one of the movies that MARVEL has self-produced (which is new... that's why there are so many crappy Marvel Universe films out there). It was solid, and it signals MARVEL moving in a very cool new direction that should yield better adaptations to the screen.

That's why people are a little over-psyched.

They decided to do an "origin" story so there isn't going to be a ton of action as they're developing how he got to be a superhero. In Iron Man's case, it's a somewhat long back story due to his captivity and heart condition.

Iron Man II should be pretty insane, FWIW.
