Born here
Raised here
Trained here
Schooled here

Leaves us for glory in another country.

Kick rocks. I’m not celebrating his Benedict Arnold arse.

You would've done the same thing.

I don't know about you, but I like more having more money than I do now. It's why everyone leaves for better jobs.

You sucked on Itchy and Scratchy and you suck here too.

Blame the US track & field system.

That's absolutely fine, he can go do whatever he wants. But the circle jerk around here for him is pathetic.

Yeah, how dare an LSU board celebrate someone from LSU?

They give him like $100k every time he sets a world record.

And he doesn't have to go through the qualification trials like he would if he competed for the US.

I am pretty neutral on the whole thing and I do get why Mondo picked Sweden over the US but don't see any issue with anyone who disagrees with it either.

On the one hand, Mondo did what was best for himself monetarily which I don't fault at all. On the other hand, he's American in every facet of life except for where his mom was born so I can see why it rubs some people the wrong way that he isn't competing for the US.

I also get that he is not the only athlete to use dual citizenship but most other athletes use it because they failed to make the US team in their respective sport. Which is not the case for Mondo.

Like I said, I don't care all that much either way but I do see both sides of the argument.

How is it a loser take? I get still support him because he's P&G, but it is kind of bs and disrespectful to your home country.

I can see not caring whether he wins a medal or not, but I don't understand how people can vehemently hate him just because he doesn't wear USA across his chest.

What I would be interested in seeing is a venn diagram of the people posters on this board that hate him and the posters on this board that celebrated the Jan. 6 Capital riots.

You know there is some overlap there and would be interested to hear the mental gymnastics on why Mondo repping Sweden is bad but vandalizing the US Capital is ok.

You could make the argument that Sweden respects its pole vaulters more than the US.

I am good friends with Mondo & Desire’ Inglander. I’ll text them and let him know how you feel.

He has always had dual citizenship and he currently lives in Sweden most of the year. It kinda is his home country these days.

If you’re the best in the world, that clearly shouldn’t matter, should it?
