How does that affect someone who just dug footers for their new home? Prices going up?

I was fresh out of high school during the last recession. Didn’t really care about anything but girls and enough money for gas. I don’t remember the fall, just details after the crash.

Right now? Nada. IF this is the big correction which pops the consumer debt bubble due to high UE, eventually we'll see prices falling across the economy as deflation sets in due to consumers not having enough credit to empty shelves of supply.

Mortgage rates are dropping this morning.
Of course if things get really bad then home prices will also be dropping

If your construction has already begun, you will likely see little to know davings even if there is a steep decline in the cost of materials. Labor still is the biggest part of building and your subs have likely already priced your job.

Even in recessions, the cost to build rarely drops. At worst, (maybe at best) they stagnate.

I’m comfortable with the cost to build but I’d LOVE to see rates drop by the time I’m finished building.

Your window package is going up. Word on the street in my industry is a flat glass increase coming mid August. We're looking at a 10% increase on raw glass. That usually equates to a ~15% increase on insulating glass.

Last night you posted several times that this November's Presidential election was going to be canceled because of the today's stock market pull back.

Are you still standing by your prediction?
