Fairly accurate, but the Ex-Pro Player Zone seating area was always empty, so that no longer exists. They don’t even pretend anymore that real professionals care enough to pay attention.

Are they westbank only? From looking at their zoning chart, it looked like it was basically just the old NORD map. This is from their website.

It doesn't really look like any part of this is in JP which is why I was confused at it being called "JPRD GNO" instead of NORD. Also, as a former JPRD east player, I don't think we ever lost to the westbank in the state tournaments growing up.

Side side note, if anyone played for Carrolton's NORD team, you know how bad the other NORD teams are. That's why I assumed it was some weird combination of the two instead of just outright being a NORD team.

Most of the kids live on the Westbank and played for JPRD playgrounds. At least 10 of the 12 I believe. GNO had the charter. They partnered up with JPRD Westbank playgrounds this year. JPRD Eastbank playgrounds still play under Dixie Youth.

Westbank was 4-0 vs EB LL this year.

I once saw a carrolton red 10U coach let a kid throw 135 pitches on a Saturday followed by 75 pitches on a Sunday

Shame on him and that kids parents

Sometimes the parents are just ignorant. But the coaches should damn well know, especially from an organization like Carrollton. That is way too many pitches, frick a coach who risks throwing a little kid’s arm out for the sake of winning a tournament.

When my oldest son was playing 12U, we had to play Eastbank in a state Cal Ripken tournament. This was around 2005, and travel ball was just picking up momentum. Our small town rec league was pulling from a total of ~50 players. RUMOR was that the Eastbank team was basically a New Orleans regional team. They were the best “rec” all-star team that I ever saw.

They absolutely were in some form. This was 12U Cal Ripken league ball. The tournament was in Donaldsonville. I have zero reason to make this up.

Eastbank LL didnt start until 2013 or 2014. Not saying you are lying but it wasn't the same group because it did not exist

Coming up in Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken (would be mid 90s) we always finished second in the state tournament to Lake Shore. There were no JPRD teams during those years in those tournaments. When we turned 13 we were finally able to beat Lakeshore, and of course that's when there was a JPRD East and West team. We lost to one of those two in the finals. Always a Nola team standing in the damn way.

I believe Cal Rikpen/Babe Ruth went to pitch count rules for pitchers now. It used to be 6 total innings every 2 games. If you threw over 3 innings you couldn't pitch the next game. So you could have used 2 pitchers going 3-3, 3-3, 3-3 in every game. Or gone each one a full 6 every other game. Pretty brutal pitching rules. Now there was a strict rule that you could only play a max of 2 games in a day. So at least there was that.
