Teaching my son to play golf - golf course recommendation around Baton Rouge

I used to play daily during the summers in high school and a few times a year in college but it's been years since the last time I set foot onto a course. Now my son wants to get into it so I'm trying to teach him but it's been so long since I've played around here that I have no clue where the best place would be to take him.
I'm assuming during the week at a less busy time obviously but can anyone recommend a good course to take him where we won't be rushed and could take our time?

Honestly. just needs to go to the driving range for now. Not nearly as fun, but he'll hate it even more out on a golf course hacking away.

Yep I'm gonna take him to the range first but I'm referring to once he gets a handle of swinging the club and such. We're not going on the course when it's this hot while trying to maintain patience with a nine year old

City Park
18 holes pre-paid is $10 to walk and $24 to ride
Greens and tee boxes will be beat up pretty good but it’s not too difficult and doesn’t play very long

Green fee for juniors (17 and under) is $5. $19 with a cart.

BREC has a lot of golf for kids. I see them at Clark, Santa Maria, Webb, and City park on certain days. They have them on the driving range, putting, and chipping. Not sure of the age requirements but they look to be in the 7 to 12 range. Then again that maybe only a summer thing.

The Pines in Denham Springs is good for a beginner. $10 per person including cart on Golf Now. The course is not good, but there aren't roads along it to hit cars and the houses are far enough back. I took my son there for his first few rounds.

Absolutely, played a lot of golf here because it was 2 minutes from my house and my boys were just learning.. so it was ideal... But that fricking tree on #7 in the middle of the fairway can still kiss my arse

Oak Lake
It’s in Clinton but it’s rarely busy. Not in the best conditions but that’s where I would play to learn when I was starting out.
