Ike's beach chair rentals: Biggest scam in US?

Per beach policy no 4 legged tents past the flag pole, due to security not being able to see folks swimming.
Yet, if you rent several umbrellas and chairs you can bunch them up together, thus blocking vision of security. Makes absolutely zero sense.
Only logically explanation is that beach security along the Alabama-Florida Gulf coast is getting a cut from IKE's beach chair rentals

That is legist, and that is wrong.

Why not just bring your own 4 umbrellas then.
Or a shabumi that has only 2 legs

Well yeah, they pay a lot of money to each municipality to be the official chair providers. Of course the municipalities are in on it.

People that set up tents in front of those chairs are a$$e$. Chairs in front are fine.

Private beach we went to in Seagrove had no tent rule, but can rent chairs 50$ per day since it wasn’t included in rental. Couldn’t get front row if you didn’t rent the damn chairs. So just forked over the money to make wifey happy. Was nice not hauling as much crap… but still definitely scam for 50$ a day

Rent the chairs or haul all your shite down a few hundred feet left or right. This isn’t hard.

I have to ask just to understand how this happens. The OP is about beach chairs. How did your brain go directly to politics and a specific person? Sincere question.

Same. My family unit are chair renters but when vacationing with relatives, they bring their own shite and compound all around us, the "agency" doesn't care, never says shite. Also, for many years I was anti-chair renting but after doing it once, especially with children, it's the best money you'll spend at the beach. $30 grouper sandwich but won't pay $40 to not have to haul shite to and from the beach. Lightbulb went off in my head. Love the chair rentals. It's only the poor people with tattoos who still smoke that resent them.

For political upvotes and cred for low hanging fruit quips.

Insanely overpriced. Some southern drawled blowhard had our stretch of beach last weekend and made sure to remind us he could pick up all the chairs for the day if it started slightly raining

We were in Orange Beach a few weeks ago and there were plenty of 4 legged tents past the poles.
