Anyone play Star Citizen?

Ive been following off and on since the kickstarter. It's currently better than It's ever been, but there's still not much of a game there yet. It's beautiful for sure but can be very janky and bug ridden (as alphas are). They are currently making a big push for 4.0, which will introduce static server meshing which "should" help with stability and things like AI which barely ever function. I do expect the next year or so to come with even bigger advancements since they are moving a lot of people over from the single player game now that it's nearing completion.

It's not a scam, but I wouldn't put any more money than the $45 starter pack unless you just really want to support the project.

tried again a month or so ago. still regular disconnects that force fail your missions and make you start over.

Absolutely pathetic and the most money I've ever wasted on a game.

Even mobile games i spent thousands on, I at least got something out of it in return.

SC is nothing but a grift.

It's a fascinating idea, but I don't think they'll ever complete it. They have raised 644 million dollars to date which is one of the most absurd numbers I have ever heard of.

It's legit in that they are certainly developing a game and putting their best effort to it, but they'll never make this a complete game. Probably neat to hop in and look around, but a decade from being useable.

Also cool ships cost thousands of real dollars, and people are preordering them years ahead of time. I have no idea what part of the population is funding this.
