Anyone else stunned by how close the Boys is to current events?

I just finished watching The Boys finale. They were talking about an assassination attempt and then ended with martial law. This was filmed already. How in the hell did they know about an assassination attempt? I'm just trying to see if anyone else noticed this. I clearly think martial law is what they are cooking up next.

I bailed after Sesson 2 (cancelled Prime because of Rings of Power). Hadn't watched S3-4, don't care.
All I know is that the showrunner Kripke is a delusional TDS nutjob. He's distorted the original theme of the story to fit his deranged political views.
Ratings have fallen off (shocker) this latest season because of it.

Based on the reviews I've read I have no plans to watch it. I enjoyed it so far, but it seems like it's gone totally off the rails and Kripke seems to have the attitude of 'if you don't like it frick you and don't watch it'. So I won't.

2nd half of s3 was really good because of Soldier Boy, but this season took it way too far. I understand the first 2 seasons were making fun of both sides (more right than left) but they were way too on the nose this time. It just ruins the immersion for me

I'm through Episode 6 of the new season and it's a mess. I really liked the show when it came out and it was such a great concept but it's really just fallen off a cliff. The new season is basically just how much shock value they can squeeze into each episode, and then see if they can do something crazier the next. The plot is all over the place, all of the characters are annoying and/or unlikeable, and I can't stop being pissed about what Erin Moriarty did to her face
