This channel has popped up to much on my YT algorithm recently and has provided a ton of laughs for how ridiculous people will be to get the "perfect" shot of espresso

Nerd is just applied to something that people really get into and become what they perceive as an SME, even if they aren't.

As one gets older, acquiring skills for one's passions is greatly appreciated. If i didn't already have an espresso maker, and would have saw this video before i bought one, i'd definitely look into this.

A well made espresso is hard to beat.

Recently traveled to Indonesia and drank kopi lewak. Pretty good stuff but I don't nerd out for coffee.

I’ve heard people refer to themselves as coffee nerds or coffee snobs because they drink speciality K-cups.

Agreed on all points. It's just fascinating the lengths people will go to achieve the perfect whatever it is that they want, specifically coffee. I enjoy lattes and making them at home for taste and functionality. This is just a level of passion where drinking coffee bcomes a hobby more than function.
