Little Red River fishing

The family will be in Greer’s Ferry Lake for a week in July. We usually spend the whole week on the upper lake but I’m wanting to take my 11 year old son fishing on the river. Any recs for a guide service for a half-day trip? Im assuming a guided trip is our best (over diy) if we’ve got less than a day to spend. Tia

Fun guy. Can do fly or spin. I did a half day with him last year and had a blast.

Did Little Red River get infested with Didymo, aka as “rock snot” like White River?
I used to love fishing W.R.before,made many a trip there.I didn’t go for a few years and last time I went bottom was covered with Didymo.I don’t care to go back.
I still caught trout but it was highly irritating getting caught up in it.

Not that I know of. I didn’t wade last time I was at the Little Red and didn’t pay attention. I haven’t been to the White in years. That’s sad to hear.

He’s awesome, fly fishing. Best experience, great guy and guides (I went circa 2016)
For wade fishing, Narrows dam. Be prepared to run when you hear the noise that the water is being released though.
I never got to wade but I did catch my first native brown and it was so special.
Not stocked here. Amazing River. Try out fly fishing for a day or half day with Rouse and crew…it’s beautiful.
Have fun!

My son and I fished with Bill Willmert, Ozarkanglers.com.
We boated over 40 fish on a half day trip and my son had never cast a fly before.
He is in the Heber Springs area.
