Expected to be Michigan

Ig link wouldn't embed it's from recruits.lsu stories.

I think everyone is shocked at this point about WR class at this point. Still alot of time left for staff to pull some magic out the hat.

I think it only embeds Twitter and YouTube at the moment.

This would be Michigan’s third recruit from the Nola area in recent weeks. Chris Howard from John Curtis must be pumped.

Wright is ranked the 536th overall player in the country on 247 composite, and is ranked as the 21st best player in the state of Louisiana for 2025, yet he is about to be committed to Michigan, with other offers including LSU, Georgia, A&M, Ole Miss, Miami, Arkansas, Miss St. etc. This truly goes to show you how underrated and overlooked some Louisiana kids are in National rankings. Per Capita Louisiana produces more NFL talent than any other state.

As for the Michigan pick this shocks me, but also excites me. To me, this means one of the big big time WR’s LSU is after in 25 (Moore, Ffrench, Lockett) LSU ends up with.

Destrehan isn't getting a ton of talk as an elite team in 2024, but they have some great players on offense, such as Wright.

I don't think LSU really pushed for him. They only pushed for Man Child at WR position in-state. I think a Michigan fan said one of the coaches on the staff is from Louisiana also.

I don't think LSU knows if they landed any of them 3 WRs. It's probably more about Michigan made him a priority.

He runs 10.6 100m and 21.5 200m which equates to a 4.4 40 at minimum.
Rankings and the rest show go out the window. If the defending National Champions deem him offer worthy then so should we.
What happened to locking down the state?

Their WR coach and pass game coordinator Ron Bellamy played at Shaw. That’s how they landed Jasper Parker from Shaw.

Because Michigan doesn't have WR's growing on trees in their backyard like we do. We never made him a priority bc we currently have better options.

That’s right. They already have the Washington kid from Shaw committed as well. I could see us making a push for Washington and Wright later on depending on how we fare with these other receivers.

Why do you think it means that?

It seems like lsu is whiffing on wide receiver commits left and right. Caleb Cunningham is another guy who supposedly liked lsu early and is expected to commit to Bama.

To me it has to be nil related.

Their best WR was a speedster that got drafted to the Steelers in the 3rd round.

If they land this guy, then they have landed both WRs in state that I have hoped LSU would go after hard. I thought both would end up at Mississippi St, but who in the hell is at Michigan that is pulling them up there from a team that has had shite pass offenses since forever? Is it just the prestige of going to the defending champs? If HC Moore does develop that passing game with their new QB, they could be dangerous on both sides of the ball.

LSU and Hankton have to be confident in the big guns to allow those two to leave. Both of those guys are speedsters, and Washington has legit first round potential if developed right.

I think they will push for them if they miss here on the out of state wrs. Sometime coming late can rub players wrong way and don't like to be people backup options or could be opposite.

I think things will be more clearer after Bayou Splash for sure.

whiffing on who exactly? Nobody has committed. At what point in time were we ever a true 1-2 contender for Wiley? Outside of that, we are in the top 3 for the top 3. IMO we pull Ffrench, but LSU needs to double back and pull Washington away from Michigan.

Unlike many others, i was 100% okay with getting the top 3 WRs in the state and calling it a day. The portal is a great option for a veteran WR if needed.

I don’t think they are whiffing on them. More so riding the fence. But also kinda dangerous should they emerge even more

Agree. We haven't pushed for any of theses kids.
Wright got an offer and we never heard about him again. To his credit I've read up his stuff from both Michigan and UGA and both like him a lot. Michigan for aforementioned reasons(they don't grow on trees up there) and UGA due to that speed. Apparently performed well there. They also just took 2 lowly rated instate kids and have curious trouble recruiting wrs. Wouldn't suprise me if his offer was tied to Mack. We love our position with him so maybe Wright isn't needed anymore. That's me assuming.
As for riding the fence, seems like it. Whether through communication or assumption, it seems as though our staff expects that if LSU comes calling these kids will flip. They're probably right.

At this point if everyone's honest, they have to be a little frustrated with how WR recruiting is going so far especially given we have Nuss for 2 years then a QB phenom to take over after him, just put two WRs in the first round both of whom were developed by this staff and the depth chart will be wide open in 25. You'd think elite WRs would be lining up to play with Nuss and Brice in this offense

Hankton is a great developer but not a great recruiter, never has been. Also receiver is a position that NIL plays a major role in. Receivers are divas, divas want to get the most nil they possibly can up front, lsu isn’t offering that to any of the top guys (compared to their other nil offers). We’ll still land some solid WR’s just gotta hope hankton keeps developing them like he has.
