Are Cafe appliances any good? They look great, just don't know much about them. Looking to purchase a whole set of appliances for a new home.

We bought the dishwasher and fridge and absolutely loved it. The fridge was fricking awesome, I swear I felt like we had double the room of our previous French door fridge.
We moved recently and left it at the house, but for the two years we had them, loved it

My house came w a 2017 Cafe induction cooktop. No problems so far. It was kind of a pain in the arse to figure out how to turn off the blinking not connected to wifi light. I couldn’t think of a single reason I would need my cooktop connected to wifi.

Prob to let you know if you leave it on too long.
Same with fridges if power goes out or whatever it can warn you if your food may be unsafe along with filter changes and what not.
Problem is that if you let the app send you alerts on your phone, the greedy bastards can’t help themselves. They have to send you ads constantly.

Good to know, really like the look of these appliances. But don’t want that to bite me in the arse later on. I’m in between Cafe and GE Profile line.

Have the stove which is a great appliance but the fricken knobs and bezels are trash. My model is chrome covered plastic.

They are Chinese appliances made by Haier, just re-labeled.
Haier bought the GE appliance name several years ago. General Electric has nothing whatsoever to do with GE Appliances anymore.

My parents bought the double oven that has the top oven with French door style doors and the lower oven is traditional and the motherboard went out about 2 years in. GE did not cover the repair and I don’t know their warranty terms. It was about 1300 to repair with the labor.

Full set of Cafe our home purchased in 21’.
I like the French door oven. The microwave is a microwave. The fridge has done okay. Replacing the water filters gets annoying and can be expensive. The range has been solid. The dishwasher is a fricking piece of shite.

Just hit the reset button and don't change the filter......like the rest of us.

In the process of building a house and after talking to multiple appliance sales guys about the cafe line, the only difference between the cafe line and base GE models is the trim packages. So unless you want to pay extra for a different color or have different colored knobs, I would save the cash and just get the base models because the guts of the appliance are the same.

I did a remodel when I bought my house that was formerly a rental. I put in all CAFE appliances during this work in 2014.
Fridge: Had to have a fan replaced and the condensate line flushed twice as it got clogged and was backing up water into the unit
Dishwasher: Been great. Only issue was not because of quality. Lighting strike fried the board on the unit. GE sent me a new board under warranty and I replaced it myself.
Oven/Stove: Had the igniter glow element replaced in the oven once.
Microwave: It didn't do anything special for the price. So, after it failed, I declined fixing it and went with a less costly GE unit. The Cafe microwave would run with the door open. I didn't feel like taking it apart to repair it.
