As a jags fan I just don't understand the organization giving him this kind of money early. I just don't think he has that dawg in him to take it to the next level such as Joe Burrow or Josh Allen. His only claim to fame was a 30 point comeback win in the playoffs against the chargers and guess what he threw 5 int's in the first half guess that was on him right? Hell CJ stroud almost has more comeback or 4th quarter comeback wins in one season than Lawrence has in three seasons. His demeanor never looks like he takes it personally and goes out and balls like Joey B or Lamar Jackson. We shall see and hopefully I eat my words. Jags offense will have plenty of weapons this year too. Anyway I am ready for football season

Sounds like a deal potato would make but after Nick Foles and Blake Bortles signed big deals I am suspect on this deal also

Trevor Lawrence signed a 5 year , $275,000,000 contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, including $37,500,000 signing bonus, $200,000,000 guaranteed,

Well it wasn't exactly a cheap deal

There was a time when Derek Carr was the highest paid QB in the NFL.

Don’t look at the number. Look at what percentage of the cap it will be during the contract. In a few years it will look like a bargain.

He’s still young and Pederson obviously feels like he has a higher ceiling than he’s reached as he grows more in the pros. He’s essentially a third year player as the urban year was about the worst environment a rookie franchise player could ever be in.

Hes like 10th in the league at % of cap when the deal was signed, which is really the only thing that matters. The specific numbers will continue to go up.

I watch all the games and that is my concern. At the end of a game we need a drive or a first down to have chance to win or preserve a win and Tlaw just doesn’t do it. He just doesn’t have the awareness that a lot of the young great qb’s have. He holds the ball too long and takes a sack and has a shite ton of turnovers to go along with the sacks.

To be fair he led several late game drives that the defense then blew. The Ridley experiment also seemed to derail the flow a bit.

He was an excellent QB in 2022-23 but took a step back last year just like the entire team did.

So glad Ridley is gone. Dude thinks he is #1 but he plays like #3. No speed No separation but get me the ball lol. Titans did us a favor. I have hope with Kirk, Davis, Thomas Jr, Ingram, and Etienne and a healthy Lawrence just hope he takes it to the next level and stays there.

Contract extension doesn’t start til 2026. He’s got two more years on his rookie deal.

There aren’t many good NFL QBs anymore so the average ones are hyped and paid more than they are worth.

He needs wide receivers. Guys like he had in college.

They had an 8-3 record going into December. Then he started getting multiple injuries and playing injured the rest of the season.

He’s the highest paid QB because he is the latest QB to get paid

In 3 years he won’t be a top 10 highest paid QB
