Silk Road in the Marigny is one of the better fusion restaurants I've been to.

Went for Restaurant week. Their menu had good choices and wasn't just salmon or Pork chop like so many others.
(Even though they also had those)

Also had a wine pairing for $20.

They had an interesting take on a crab bisque making it with coconut milk that gave it somewhat of. Thai curry flavor.

For Mains we got the Shrimp and udon pasta. It came with some large 16/20 shrimp. Only pair I had was the head and tails were on so you had to use your hands.

We also tried their crabcake which came with a mint, cilantro chutney.
But the star was the excellent mango cheesecake which wasn't overly rich or sweet and paired well with the dessert wine.

All in all I highly recommend this place. $45 was the restaurant week price for 3 course.

NGL, I low key hate it when restaurants serve me shrimp in a pasta dish that I have to peel. I ordered pasta on purpose so I wouldn’t have to eat with my hands or get them dirty. If I’m getting a dish that’s like shrimp as the main separated from other sides, that’s different. But if my shrimp are in a pasta, peel them first, please.

I started cutting the tails and heads off with the butter knife but it was cutting off too much meat. I just decided to go in and eat the shrimp first.
The flavors were good. But I would prefer peeled. I don't need the heads and tails so they look fresh. I know all restaurants use frozen shrimp anyway.

I almost lost my shite a few years ago when I went to Oxlot 9 in Covington and had their shrimp and grits and they arrived with the shell and heads on. Nevermind getting the grits on your fingers, It's simply ridiculous for a somewhat "fine dining" experience.

Some restaurants feature a special type of employee called a "waiter." The "waiter" can be very helpful, and answer questions about dishes when taking your order.

Next time you are in a restaurant, you could ask your "waiter" if the shrimp in a dish are peeled. If the shrimp are not prepared the way you like them, in that case your procedure could be to order something else.

Hope this helps!
