Disappointed we are ranked 11, behind 6 other
SEC Teams. I know we lost a great QB and Nussmeier is our guy. And have new defensive coordinator I hope is good as advertised. Can a few of y’all that follows LSU recruiting and talent and live in La. Tell me and other fans outside Louisiana what you think about our upcoming season and if y’all think we will be better than the Sports analyst are predicting for our Tiger's in 2024. I have tickets for Bama at LSU this year so excited. We have to beat them because Saban is gone now. Thanks in advance

Not sure why you’re disappointed. Considering the amount of great players this team lost from last season, being ranked in the top 15 is incredible.

We lose good talent every year, like all teams. But is Ole Miss, Missouri and Bama all better teams than LSU. Kelly got some talent from the portal to help with experienced players?

I think #11 is too high honestly. We lost a Heisman winning QB and 2 first round receivers. Our defense should be better with an overhauled defensive staff but who really knows until the game is played. On the positive we have a top 5 O line in the country and a QB who has been in the program and showed he can ball in the bowl game. I think we would be more appropriately ranked at 15ish.

I think it’s a fair assessment, if you watched us play defense then you’d understand why many people are optimistic..

Thanks for your answer. Can’t wait to see that QB from Michigan #1 ranking get to Baton Rouge. He is going to be huge asset for Tigers in 2025 with some great receivers and running backs for him to throw to.

I consider LSU top 1 OL in country, not top 5. That's huge. Makes me feel a lot better about losing Jayden.

LSU should be 18-22 going into the season. 11 is way too high

almost Top 10 is generous considering the turnover, somewhere between #13-#15 will probably be our realistic AP preseason ranking

Our D line is lacking bigtime. You do not contend for the SEC title with the guys we are gonna trot out at D Line. I am HOPING our overall D is better than 2023 mainly because of coaching. But our D line looks weaker than even we were in 2023. That alone is why I think LSU in 2024 will not win more than 10 games total, including post season.

On paper…

Big problems on DL.

Big problems at CB.

No GameChangers at WR.

No Heisman QB.

Offensive line, track stars all around nuss, defense shouldnt be an excuse. Secondary is rebuilt once again, however the attack speed from the linebackers is elite, no excuse.

Why are you disappointed about #11? Remember all you have to do is be top 12 at seasons end and you go dancing. I know it’s not 64 like basketball and baseball but 12 is sooooo much better than 4. And when it was only 2 there seemed to always be a third wheel (undefeated Auburn and even USC from our 2003 run) so let’s see how this plays out.

Defense will hold this team back again. It will be a 9-3/8-4 type season.

We had one of the best offenses in CFB history and finished outside the top 10. Our defensive personnel was not upgraded and we will take a step back offensively. Do you think we are a top 10 team is just silly.

#11 is pretty generous given the losses on offense and question marks on defense. I’m interested in seeing how Nuss performs under pressure with the game in his hands. Jayden was magical at times and that is hard to replace.

Maybe I’m just being optimistic, but I believe we will be better everywhere on defense except the interior DL. Many guys are back at edge rusher, LB, and secondary that got valuable experience last year and should be better a year later. Don’t discount the difference in coaching this year either. I’m not saying that unit will be elite, but they should provide at least some resistance to opposing offenses which they couldn’t do a year ago.

Ole Miss is a going to be a good team again this year. You are looking at this with purple and gold goggles. 11 is a decent ranking. I was actually shocked we were that high. I was expecting us to be closer to 16-20.

who? Hilton needs to show he's more than speed and Durham probably isn't going to play much.

excuse? I'm evaluating the team. I think 11 is very fair and possibly a little bit high based on the number of question marks.

We lost a TON of explosive players off last years team. And, of course, we weren't a great team.

I'm realistic.
