Probably 10-12 years ago, maybe a little more, me and a buddy of mine got into some trout in big lake. That night his dad cooked from a recipe I recall him saying he found in Louisiana sportsman. It was trout filets on a sheet pan and had heavy cream, butter, maybe red onions and lemon (at least). It was all put together on the sheet pan and baked. Served over baked potatoes and it was delicious. I’ve never been able to find the recipe and I’m wondering if anyone has any similar recipe or maybe happens to know what I’m talking about. Never occurred to me to ask the great Food and Drink board before now

I actually found this one this morning and it is the closest one I’ve found to what I remember. Seems this one could be doctored up some to add a little kick - I wish I could remember more about the dish. I just remember that it was really good. Thanks for sending!

I have - we all remember the meal but can’t remember the source or the exact recipe. The issue ( if it was indeed La sportsman) probably got tossed not long after

Use the recipe we found as a base and fool around with it as you remember the dish.
