Bryson City area to do's

Booked a cabin just outside of Bryson City with the family. Kids are 15 and 16. Looking for must do's around here. I have booked rafting and plan on the train ride, not sure which one yet. May take a drive to Cade's Cove early one morning as well. Is Maggie Valley worth a visit or any other suggestions to visit? Any good places to eat as well? TIA

Zip lining is fun by there. Hiking parts of the app trail. There’s one part where you hike up the mountain onto a fire lookout and amazing views from the top of the lookout. Bro dangles is a must.

Rent a boat and spend a day on Fontana.

You are probably referring to Wessler's Bald Firetower which is great but in my opinion Shuckstack Firetower is the best of the firetowers along the NC section of the Appalachian trail. It is about a 3 mile hike from Fontana Dam trailhead with 2000 ft of elevation gain and provides the best views of Southern Appalachia from high above the Smokies and Fontana Dam.
Climbing up the stairs of the tower isn't for everyone (it is still safe to use), so do your research but I believe that adds to the fun of it.
As someone already mentioned, you can make a day out of Fontana Lake too

Might as well drive the Tail of the Dragon while you're out there.
