ESPN's WNBA rookie rankings:

1. Cameron Brink, Los Angeles Sparks
2. Angel Reese, Chicago Sky
3. Kate Martin, Las Vegas Aces
4. Rickea Jackson, Los Angeles Sparks
5. Julie Vanloo, Washington Mystics
6. Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever
7. Aaliyah Edwards, Washington Mystics
8. Sevgi Uzun, Dallas Wings
9. Leonie Fiebich, New York Liberty

The rankings primarily uses three metrics: Win Shares, Estimated Wins Added, and Player Efficiency Rating. All of that information comes from Basketball-Reference.

Will not matter, Clark will be RotY if they have that award.

Rookie of the Year Odds:

Caitlin Clark (-650)
Cameron Brink (+650)
Angel Reese (+1100) up from +2500 odds at the start of the season.

"3rd" is Kate Martin (4.3 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 1.7 APG) shooting 26% from the field

this ranking is absolutely bananas.

I support LSU women’s athletics but I long for the day I didn’t click the rant and found five Angel Reese threads on the front page every day

She's averaging almost 16ppg, 6 assists and 5 rebounds on a bad team. Those rankings are dumb.

35% from the field, 29% from 3, and almost 6 TOs a game. That's horrendous efficiency. She hasn't shot over 50% in a single game.

Can we please quit talking about this Prima Dona. Let her carry all of that nonsense to a useless basketball league and ride off into oblivion.

Angel is shooting 33% from the floor. Her best game fg percentage wise is 44%.

ANGEL SHOOTS EVERYTHING FROM 4 FEET AND IN.

I’m glad she is doing well (it reflects well on herself & the program), but I am surprised her shooting % is so low given her game IRT the basket. If she improves her FG% she would likely run away with their ROY award.

I used to point this out when she was at LSU, Angel doesn’t get the ball above her head to shoot. She flips shot from shoulder height. She got shots blocked in college from smaller girls, and now she is getting about 2 - 4 shots a game blocked. When she does get it off without being blocked, she has no touch because she’s just slinging it at the goal from shoulder height.

Having said that, she’s relentless going after rebounds and she’s in better shape than the other big girls and she’s had some big 4th quarters in the WNBA by having more energy and getting the rebounds and putbacks.

Those are probably first team WNBA numbers right?
