What are the rules regarding current student atheletes and recruting? It seems he's done a great job promoting LSU. Just curious if he has to give up that roll once he enrolls in january....

Technically, he cant sign until Feb so I am pretty sure he can keep going.

Even if he's currently enrolled at LSU? I would assume that would trump signing, but I've been wrong plenty of times before.

im pretty sure there is no rule keeping a student from talking to prospects. that just wouldnt make sense

He just signed his scholarship papers b/c he is enrolling this semester,HE IS OURS
If he would decide to leave now he would have to sit out a year.

And that's my point. I'm not trying to stir up anything. Just general curiosity. I know that former players, i.e., the Reggie Bush/Joe McKnight accusations, have regulations, I'm just curious if it's the same with players or not.

On the bright side. I guess he can host recruits on their official visits.
I still think he can contact recruits though. The Reggie Bush situation is different. Since he is no longer with the program he is considered a booster by NCAA definition.
All the time recruits mention having relationships with players on the team. Trent Richardson is boys with Julio Jones. Julio let him borrow his Escalade.

Of course they can contact other recruits. After you graduate/leave for NFL however, you cannot.

Especially if they have already become good friends. Imagine someone trying to regulate that.

The restrictions of the NCAA apply to Enrolled Student-athletes (Shep come January) if the student is INSTRUCTED TO MAKE THE CALL BY THE COACHING STAFF.
You tell me how that would be proven.
