LSU at +900 to win it all only behind A&M and Tennessee . North Carolina is 8th best odds…

However, NC is favored over us to win the Regional.

What gives?

LSU is a very public team in a niche sport

I guess they feel like if LSU can get past UNC then they will have a great shot at going all the way. Interestingly, they don't think UNC will go all the way. No doubt UNC at I think 38-2 at home presents a great challenge....

LSU looks like a championship team right now that nobody wants to play. I never thought they would get here, but they seem to be developing the IT factor and will be a very difficult out at any level going forward.

Futures prices are about liability. Lsu likely has the most futures money on them to win the title. Based on being lsu and last years success. Its not true odds on their ability to win the title. If it were, they would prob be 30/1

They are playing their best ball right now but really should be in the +2000-3000 range with teams like Duke (+2000), UGA (+2200) or Okie State (+3000)

Mississippi State at +4500 might be my favorite value on the board rn

Preseason LSU had the best odds, in the middle of the season LSU had bad odds, now they are back up to 3rd. Point is that none of those mean anything, especially in a sport like college baseball

It means the sports books know they can give LSU high odds and people will bet on them regardless based on name recognition.

I guess the niche part is true because I don't watch MLB, but I do watch the NFL. Being a LSU fan I just always assumed baseball was a big sport.
