I know it is the wrong time of year but I have some friends in London and Ireland I'd like to ship one to. Any guidance on this is appreciated

not sure if possible to ship something like that international..
but imo kellers in lafayette is the best and if I had to ship a king cake and expect it to taste good after a few days I think their style would hold up well.

It’s legal to ship it, but it’s not a good idea. It takes forever just to get there, then it may get held in customs for a while. Then it may get smashed.
But for OP, if you are absolutely sure you want to do it, you are probably going to need to pick it up a ship it yourself.
Edit: you can maybe talk to Haydels and see if they can ship one. I know they have shipped something for us to a military PO Box out of the country for us before so maybe they can do it for you.

Call Haydel’s in old Jefferson. I can assure you shipping overseas is not foreign to them

Why go through all the trouble to ship an overpriced cinnamon roll? They’ll probably lie and tell you what you want to hear and how good it was. But if I had to guess they won’t even enjoy it.
Ship them a Louisiana care package. Tony’s, crab boil, Zapp’s, gumbo base, etoufee mix, etc.
