Rest easy Bill, all time great and greatest passing center of his era. Precursor to the Joker. Still remember vividly his 21-22 shooting performance against Memphis, one of the greatest one game championship performances ever.

Hate to see the big man go. He was a joy. Kind of eerie he died just as the “Conference of Champions” is going away.

Met him once at LSU when his son Adam played for the Tigers.
Adam was a fun guy. No idea how he passed a drug test based on his party life.

Judging from all the stories posted on social media the past 2 days, he appears to be the most universally beloved sports figure among his peers.

He was a heck of an individual. He was actually a pretty shy guy who gradually showed more of himself as he got older. At his heart though he was a fierce competitor that learned the value of team under the Great John Wooden. He was genuine, cared about his teammates and inspired a lot of people by playing at a high level despite his body failing him multiple times. Dude had like 35 surgeries throughout his career and kept coming back.
You just had to see him when he was rolling though, great athlete that did it all, ferocious rebounder, bullet outlet passes, great rim protector, deft touch in the paint, and great timing on his passes. Oh, and he would certainly fire one up with you
