We do not have much chance of winning this thing to be honest. We have used our 2 best pitchers, and they are done for the rest of the tournament. Winning 3-4 games without Holman and Jump seems unreasonable.

You are correct, we aren't winning this tournament. Not enough quality pitching, IMO.

BUT, we have done enough to get ourselves into the NCAA Ty and that was the objective, IMO.

On to Corvallis.

people said the same thing when we found ourselves in the losers bracket in Omaha. It's postseason baseball. Players step up, crazy stuff happens. What hasn't bene mentioned is we've only used 4 pitchers through 2 games, and only 2 of them are burned for the rest of the SECT. We still have Ackenhausen, Little, Hellmers, Ulloa, Dutton, Moffett, Anderson, Coleman, Loer, and Hurd who have yet to pitch and can give you innings to get through a few more games. Ackenhausen and Anderson both are capable of giving you 4-5 innings. Hurd, if he gets his shite together like he did last year, can too.

Not a single team in the SEC has 5 starting pitchers lined up. But teams still manage to figure out a way to piece together wins to win the tournament every year.

I mean, a lot of people said the same thing about Skenes and Floyd last year.

It’s an uphill battle for sure and I don’t really like our chances against Smith if Arkansas wins today. But if USCe holds out, we have a path. Beat USCe and you get a day off before the semis on Saturday, against a team who is either on their 4th game in 4 days or their 5th game in 5 days.
