USB external hard drive reader

Any experience with one? Looking for one to see what I have on some of my old hard drives pulled from my old laptops.

Yeah for 2.5" drives (ssd or hdd) you just need a sata-usb cable. They are probably all the same.
If you have a 3.5" (desktop) drive you'll need an enclosure with its own power supply.

I have an older device, very very similar to that one. Works great.

Open computer. Plug in sata and power cable. That’s it. You don’t even need to turn off the computer.

I used one several years ago. Was working on a Dell laptop when it suddenly turned off and wouldn't turn back on. Moved the hard drive to an external enclosure. New computer wanted to format it so be careful.
Ended up using Recuva, which copied the files into a recovery folder I created. Bad thing was it didn't copy the folders. I had to go to the command prompt and sort the important file types into their own folder. JPG, XLS, etc.
