Well, that's an interesting take, because the ESPN reporter clearly reported the incident as if the cop fricked up.

This cop wasn’t part of the event traffic detail for the tournament, so he probably didnt even know the procedures for letting credentialed persons into the course. Scheffler was apparently following the normal procedure for entering the course as a competitor, unaware that an accident had occurred that was causing traffic problems. The cop could have used a little common sense before taking it this far.
