We are all wanting to see our Tigers make the post season but there is nothing this team has done to deserve that shot. Every single opportunity that they’ve been given to take that next step, they crumbled it up, thrown on the ground and jumped up and down on it. I always want to see them succeed but I also won’t be mad if they don’t make the post season because when I’m honest with myself, they don’t deserve it.
Last night was a perfect illustration of their entire season. Jay Johnson completely mis-evaluated this team. Preseason this guy truly thought he had more than enough elite arms and was worried how he’d get them all their innings. He also thought we had elite catchers and that the team would come around and eventually hit their stride. He was wrong on every single thing. He doesn’t have quality pitching, all 3 catchers are awful and the rest of the team either can’t hit or can’t field. It is one of the worst teams I’ve ever seen in a Tiger uniform and the only bright side to it is the freshmen class. The most disappointing part is the sophomore class and Hurd.
I almost hope we don’t make the post season so Johnson can’t sugarcoat this turd in any way. We need a massive roster overhaul and hope Shores, Noot and some other stay and get back to old form. He also better do better in evaluating talent in the portal.

You’ll get downvoted, but you’re absolutely right! All that talk preseason about not being the hunted but being the aggressor turned into BS! Johnson thought he had a Mercedes but he’s wound up cruising around in a Vega this year!

They’ve certainly found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory too many times.
It’s not one singular player, moment, or issue, it’s many of them.
Yeah, making the post season is always the goal, but this team is who they are by now and that won’t materially change. Losing last night when we were up by four late and the crowd was out of it is really emblematic of the season.
We can be honest about that now.

That's a lack of focus, discipline and being prepared for situational baseball. The staff failed this year period. They didn't develop anyone at any position. Other than Jared Jones ever player has been worse. Sure the players have to make player they defiantly have culpability. However the fact remains that Jay has to develop players here at LSU. I honestly don't see where this team has a 5-7 more sec wins is bold given the current roster.

You can pucker up and kiss the post season goodbye. It’s pretty much mathematically impossible at this point, they would have to win this series and sweep Ole Piss and dominate at SEC tournament, and as much as we wish it, it’s just not going to happen.

Somebody better trap a possum and turn it loose in Birmingham ,Ala.

Absurd. It ain't over til it's over, and if we make it to Hoover there's a chance for a new start

Highly unlikely. What we saw last night is precisely what happens to snake bit teams.

We're gonna make it to hoover. I think. The problem will be the fact that we are only going to win 3 maybe 4 SEC series. With a conference wins record that will be somewhere around .35.

This year's team is just not clutch in the SEC at all. I will be surprised if we make a Regional.
